Section 144
Notice to be given

(1) Before terminating the employment relationship, the employer or the worker shall give notice to each other as follows, except in the case of termination of employment due to bad conduct:-(a) At least one day in advance in the case of employment of up to four weeks,
(b) at least seven days in advance in the case of employment from four weeks to one year, and (c) at least thirty days in advance in the case of employment of more than one year.
(2) If the employer terminates the employment without giving the notice as per sub-section (1), the wages for the period for which such notice is to be given shall be given to the worker concerned. Workers can deduct from their wages.
